International Women's Day 2024

Dear Friends,

On International Women's Day, our heartfelt wishes go out to women and men who have recently been released from captivity and violence.

In the following video, we bring to you the images and voices of brave women, graduates of our halfway apartments, who, even in the last year, in the shadow of war, embarked on a path of freedom with their children.

Thank you for supporting them through this ongoing and often challenging journey.

With prayers for the safe return of all the hostages, for the full recovery of those wounded in body and in spirit and for better days ahead!

A Bridge Between the Shelter and the Community - Woman to Woman's Halfway Program

Welcoming Woman to Woman's New Chairperson

Woman to Woman expresses its thanks to Ofra Ginio, who recently concluded a nine-year term as Chairperson of the Board,

and welcomes Ayelet Eliashar, the incoming Chairperson

Ayelet joined us after 32 years of devoted service in the Israel Police.

Her last position was the role of Police Legal Advisor.

After her retirement three years ago (at the rank of Deputy Commissioner), she began to volunteer in the shelter and the organization.

Dear friends,

I am pleased to introduce myself, as I take on the role of Chairperson of the Board.

Woman to Woman was for me love at first sight. It was not only the concept that appealed to me – helping women and their children, victims of violence in the home – but the way the organization operates: the staff, the spirit, the professionalism, the constant striving to improve, the openness to change and collaboration, and of course, the women and children themselves.

These are difficult times for us all, but for the women and children whom we assist, the passing days have created particular difficulties: They exhibit post-traumatic symptoms, intensified by high levels of anxiety and instability brought on by the situation. The missiles and sirens, and the hard economic situation, have all left their mark.

Understandably, many donors have diverted their giving to the war effort. Social challenges like the ones we contend with have been assigned a lower priority. Against this backdrop, your donations are making even more of a difference.

On behalf of us all – thank you!

Best wishes,

Ayelet Eliashar, Chairperson of the Board

Center: Ofra Ginio, (former) Chairperson of the Board, and Nurit Levy, Founder of the Itach Leorech Kol Haderech initiative

We were honored to receive the Ministry of Social Equality Award for our role in assisting women victims of violence. The award was given for the Itach Leorech Kol Haderech volunteer initiative, which accompanies women who have ended their stay in a shelter and connects them to the resources inherent in the community.

Thank you to Woman to Woman's Board, to our professional directors and to the Itach Leorech Kol Haderech steering committee members for their important work.

Congratulations to the volunteers and staff members, and especially to every woman who mustered the courage, escaped a violent relationship and is rebuilding her life. Each of you deserves an award and recognition. It is a privilege to accompany you.

Thank You for Your Contribution
